We’re in the thick of back-to-school prep. Cheer practice, soccer prep, lunches, routine, and Gatlin, our wild little 15-month-old, is running while we all try to keep up. Add in a full work schedule, unpredictable weather, and a mental load that never quite empties, and some days feel like pure survival.
And if you’re feeling it too, I want you to know:
You’re not alone. You’re not behind. You’re not failing.

Real Life Isn’t Always Aesthetic
I didn’t forget this blog.
This space was never meant to be about perfect routines or curated lives.
It was meant for the trenches. For the moments when you’re unsure how to support your spouse and kids, show up to work, and still care for your own health, but we try anyway.
Because wellness doesn’t always look like matcha lattes and morning yoga.
Sometimes it looks like protein bars in the car, crying in the laundry room, or praying in the shower.

Why We Keep Going
Lately, I’ve had to remind myself —and perhaps you do too —that this isn’t about checking every wellness box.
It’s not about performance. It’s not about pressure.
It’s about progress, intention, and staying aligned with what actually matters.
Because we’re not just raising kids.
We’re raising disciples.
We’re not just building homes.
We’re building legacy.
We’re not just managing schedules.
We’re stewarding our minds, our energy, and our clarity so we can discern and lead in a world that desperately needs truth.
We fuel our bodies not to fit into some image, but because our bodies are temples.
We anchor our routines not to impress, but because clarity of mind creates strength of spirit.
That’s why we keep going.

What’s Next for Mountain Root
I’ve got a Hormone Health Series coming soon — rooted in real, simple understanding. For anyone tired, foggy, frustrated, or feeling out of sync with their body. It’ll be practical, honest, and fully grounded.
But for now?
We breathe.
We hydrate.
We pray.
We survive this season with our eyes fixed upward and our feet planted firmly in truth.

It may feel heavy now, but this moment isn’t forever.
Even the hard seasons need light and praise.
Thanks for being here through the quiet.
This community isn’t about doing it all.
It’s about keeping grace and intention our root — even when the days are loud and messy.

I’ll meet you back here soon.
